Single-type and Double-blazon Strengths and Weaknesses
I bet y'all're wondering: how tin fairies practice extra damage to dragons? Well, me besides.
Moving on, there's some math to practise regarding single-type and double-blazon Pokémons. A single-type (a Burn attack against a Grass-type Pokémon) will deal double normal damage. Only advantages stack, so if your opponent's Pokémon has double-type and both are weak confronting your attack (a Fire attack against a Grass/Bug-blazon Pokémon) y'all will bargain quadruple damage. The message in the game is the aforementioned for both attacks, "It'southward super constructive!".
On the other manus, a single- and double-type resistance will only suffer one-half and a quarter normal damage respectively (a Water/Dragon-type Pokemon receiving a Fire attack). In-game, the message volition exist "It'southward non very constructive".
In that location's another feature in Pokémon which I never knew until... at present. Information technology'south called STAB, an abbreviated form of Aforementioned Type Assault Bonus. It amplifies the power of the move if the attacking Pokémon has the aforementioned type as the motion used (for instance a Water-type Pokémon using a H2o-type move). In this example, the harm is i.v times normal. This is also added to whatever other advantages, so a Fire-type Pokémon using a Burn down-type motility against a Grass/Bug-type Pokémon will cause six times (2×2×1.v) normal impairment! How nigh that, Misty?!
The game manual didn't say that you lot would have an algebra test, right? The good news, we're non washed yet. What happens if you use an Electric assault against a Footing-type Pokémon? It has no effect, so information technology causes no damage (Basis is immune to Electrical). And if you use an Electrical attack confronting a Ground/H2o-blazon Pokémon? Even though Water is weak against Electric, it won't have an outcome and thus, no impairment.
The last one, I swear. This one is easy. If the type of a motion is super effective against ane of the opponent'south types merely not very effective against the other, Grass attack versus Water/Flying Pokémon, so one nullifies the other, causing regular damage.
That's information technology. You lot now take at your disposal the nearly contempo Pokémon blazon chart along with a math lesson: your Pokémon's strength plus your opponent's weakness equals your victory. Now get show Misty what you are made of!
